Welcome to the Hutt Swim Club 2015

Term 2 Provisional Results are now available. Click here

Term 3 starts Tuesday Night 21st July and Saturday Morning 25th July.

The Hutt Swim Club is a volunteer organisation set up to teach and promote swimming.  It usually has 200 members ranging in age from 5 years upward. The club is based at the Huia Pool, Lower Hutt.

The Hutt Swim Club exists to:

  1. provide quality, skilled coaching
  2. introduce our youth to the joy of swimming
  3. teach water safety and survival skills; and
  4. help those who wish to swim competitively to reach their full potential.

We have a number of coaches for the classes which are held  on Tuesday night 6:30pm – 9:00pm and Saturday morning 6:50am – 7:50am.  Sessions are run at 1/2 hour or hour intervals. Adults are welcome to swim during 8.00pm - 9.00pm on Tuesday nights at a reduced fee.  A fitness programme will be provided but this is not a coached session.

As new swimmers gain more confidence they graduate to classes teaching more skills.

Race nights are held approximately once a term for the first three terms on a Tuesday night. All session swimmers may come to these events.  Club Champs are held in term 4 over two nights.  Prize giving is held in December.

For those who want to compete in wider competition - this is encouraged but not compulsory - there are a number of external meetings for both the novice as well as the more competent swimmer.  See "Competitive Swimming" on the Resources page.

Hutt Swim Club is a fun family oriented club and prides itself on running lessons within a safe environment.
